At first glance, it is impossible to determine whether the couch and wall color came first to this space and inspired the rug choice, or if it was the other way around. It was, in fact, the couch that came first, followed by the rug, and then paint was selected. But in the end, the result is the same, and is an indication of three parts working perfectly together as a whole.

The drama of the dark navy wall keeps the traditionally patterned rug from feeling overpowering, and allows the soft velvet couch to steal the show as it glows in the spotlight of the room. The eclectic collection of gold frames and the unfinished sketches within give the feeling of a room in progress, that is always seeking out additional players, but is willing to wait for the right fit; one that will correctly complement the perfectly balanced whole.
